We live in the perilous times where iniquity is grossly exalted and devotion to God is very cold. Christ prophesied this, and it is very important for us to know how we ought to live in. The world scoffs at anything that represents the authority and character of God. They look for every means to demean the work of God so that they can follow their lustful passions unchecked. Iniquity takes place in the holy place. The flesh rules and the things of the Spirit are regarded lightly. 2 Pet. 3:3. These are some of the events that will mark the eventual return of Jesus Christ.
Satan will do everything in his power to dissuade people from the faith. “And because lawlessness shall be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved’ Matt. 24;12-13. We must stand firm and hold the conviction of our faith firm to the end.
What We Need to Do:
1. Be jealous for God. Stand firm in His word. 1 Tim. 6:11-12; 2 Tim. 3;16-17. This is the anchor we have against the storms of this life.
2. Persist in doing good. Rom. 12:21; Col. 3:5. We must bring the light and character of God everywhere, being ready to conquer evil with good.
3. Be consistent with the Holy Spirit. Jude 1:11; Gal. 5:16. Constantly maintain your fire by staying near the Fire of God’s presence. Where God’s presence is, there is life.
4. Put away any besetting sin or weight. Heb. 12:1
